Who is Bethany ET Harrison?
A digital and traditional mixed media artist with a passion for researching and creating a personal database of worldwide mythology. Most of American media prefers European and Greek mythology and that is a minor causation for racial diversity requests in media. Instead of historically inaccurate race swapping, I would prefer diversity in culture and perspectives which would naturally result in racial diversity as a byproduct rather than the focus.
My most frequently asked question is in relation to my sign language illustrated art. I am not deaf, but my dad is hard of hearing and relies on reading lips. My sign language background comes from the three years of ASL I had taken in high school. My ASL illustrated series has been a way for me to revisit forgotten signs and learn new ones. By combining the visual beauty of sign language with artistic imagery vibrantly showcases the meaning of those words.
